I’ve decided to re-photograph the fringe piece with the fabric pinned to an erect board to ensure that the edging beads were hanging down to show them at their most effective.

- I'm Carrie Donohoe & I have always been fascinated by stitched textiles. I have recently completed the C&G Embroidery Certificate Level 3 under the expert guidance of my tutor, Sian Martin. I've loved having the opportunity to further develop my skills in art and design which have then been applied to embroidery and stitchery. Everything is recorded on this blog. I also have a wonderful resource in my sketchbooks full of techniques and ideas taken from their beginnings through to their completion and resolution. I spent all my working life within the NHS and enjoyed a career in nursing and health visiting [I loved every moment]. I'm now delighted to have the opportunity to follow my passion for stitched textiles and embroidery. I've exhibited in the Brighton Festival Open Houses and now look forward to exhibiting again in Brighton and beyond. The Distant Stitch Diploma, Masterclasses and Summer Schools are also possibilities for the future.
